Bonus value, not bonus size
A bonus is only worth what its terms allow you to withdraw. This page explains the mechanics and points to casinos whose reward systems we could verify line by line.
Most crypto casino "bonus guides" rank offers by headline amount. That ranking inverts real value once you read the terms. Four numbers decide what a bonus is actually worth:
- Wagering base. Is playthrough calculated on the bonus alone, or on deposit + bonus combined? The difference can be double the work. Razed, for example, applies 40x on the combined balance; others calculate differently.
- Max bet while wagering. Exceed it and operators commonly void bonus winnings — this rule voids more player balances than any other.
- Game contribution. Originals and slots usually count 100%; live dealer and table games often count 10% or are excluded entirely.
- Expiry. A 30-day window is generous. Seven days on a high multiple is effectively a trap for casual players.
Cashback, rakeback, reloads
Recurring rewards beat one-off bonuses for most players. Rakeback returns a share of house edge continuously — Duelbits publishes a captured 5%–12.5% range through Ace's Lounge; Rollbit promotes up to 70% of house edge back per bet. Reloads top your balance on a schedule; lossback refunds part of net losses over a period. Because these accrue automatically they carry far less fine print than welcome packages.
The 1x deposit turnover trap
Independent of any bonus, several operators require you to wager 100% of each crypto deposit before withdrawal — Stake and 1win both document this. It exists for AML reasons, but if you deposit and try to withdraw without playing, expect the request to be blocked. Plan deposits accordingly.
Bonus questions players actually ask
Is a bigger welcome bonus always better value?
No. A large headline bonus with 40x wagering on deposit + bonus combined is often worth less than a small rakeback programme with no strings. Always compare wagering base, max bet while wagering, expiry and game contribution before the number that matters: expected real value.
What does "wager-free" or "no Wager Lock" actually mean?
It means bonus funds (or free spins winnings) arrive as withdrawable balance without a playthrough requirement. Some casinos — Rainbet for example — let you choose explicitly between a larger wagered offer and a smaller wager-free one.
Do crypto deposits need to be wagered even without a bonus?
Often yes. Several major casinos apply a 1x turnover to every crypto deposit regardless of bonuses, as an anti-money-laundering control. Check the terms — this surprises many players at withdrawal time.
